Eligibility:-Students must be enrolling as 9th grade students for the first time.
-Students must be potential first-generation college students. This means that neither of the parents, stepparents, nor legal guardians can hold a four year college degree at the time of application.
-Students must reside in and attend school in the state of Kentucky in one of the 29 counties served by the Program. -Students must possess the desire to attend college and earn a four year degree.
-Students must have demonstrated the potential to succeed in high school and in college.
-Students and their parents/guardians must be willing to participate in the Program and its activities.
International Scholarships for International Students: No
Scholarship Description: The Robinson Scholars Program serves first generation college-bound and college students who have demonstrated the potential to succeed but who might encounter economic, cultural, or institutional impediments to their completion of four-year college degrees. The Program’s mission is to provide these students with support services and scholarship resources that empower them to complete a baccalaureate degree at the University of Kentucky and thereby increase the educational capital of their communities. In recognition of the potential obstacles facing these students, the program identifies Scholars in the eighth grade.
