American Foundation Scholarships for graduate and undergraduate students

ISA Educational Foundation Scholarships for graduate and undergraduate students in instrumentation, systems, or automation.

Scholarships Description: ISA Educational Foundation Scholarships are awarded to college or university students who demonstrate outstanding potential for long-range contribution to the fields of automation and control.


Scholarships Open for International Students: Yes


Eligibility:
Be currently enrolled, and enrolled for the entire 2012-2013 academic year, in a graduate or undergraduate program in an instrumentation, systems, or automation discipline (2 year program or 4 year baccalaureate program or its equivalent) at an educational institution in their country of residence.
• Two year program applicants must have completed at least one academic semester or 12 semester hours or its equivalent.
• Four year degree program applicants must be in their sophomore year or higher of their study or its equivalent at the time of application.
• Applicants must be full-time students in an educational institution and have at least an overall GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
• Preference for Foundation scholarship awards is given to students who are enrolled in a degree program in instrumentation, systems, and automation or other closely related fields.
• Applicants are eligible to apply and win in multiple years if the applicant meets ISA’s requirements for reporting back to ISA on the use of previously granted awards and if the application demonstrates additional potential contribution to the field beyond that for which any previous awards were based.

American Scholarships in Philosophy at University of Tennessee, USA

Department of Philosophy offers Undergraduate Scholarships in Philosophy at University of Tennessee, USA

Eligibility:
You must be a Junior or Senior and in good standing. Recipient shall be a student in the humanities in the College of Arts and Sciences. Preference shall be given (but not limited) to philosophy majors. The recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be making satisfactory progress toward a degree. Other things being equal, financial need may be taken into account in the selection process. A previous recipient may be considered for the award in a successive year. You will be considered for all scholarships.


Scholarships Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: Scholarships are for a full year. The stipend is payable in two installments which will be paid at the beginning of the fall term and the beginning of the spring term. If you apply for these scholarships and plan to graduate at the end of the fall term, please let us know in writing when you are applying, so that, should you be selected, someone else can receive the spring stipend.

African Scholarships Postgraduate Nursing at University of Cape Town

Eligibility:
-Applications are invited from eligible South African citizens who will register at the University of Cape Town, for fulltime study towards the Postgraduate Diploma and the Master’s degree in Nursing and Midwifery
1. Applicants must be in possession of a four year degree or equivalent. (NB: An equivalent is regarded as a 4 year diploma).
2. Individuals who are full-time salaried employees are ineligible. However, if full-time employed applicants intend to take leave-of-absence from employment to complete the degree, an official letter from employer indicating release for the full duration of the study period is required.
3. Applicants must show financial need (please see application procedure below).
4. Applicants who are in receipt of government-sponsored awards are ineligible to apply.
5. Successful candidates will be required to comply with the policies, procedures and practices of postgraduate funding at UCT.
6. Part-time employment of no more than 20 hours per week will be permitted.

International Scholarships for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: A Scholarship Programme has been established by the Cockwell family, in memory of their mother, Daphne Cockwell, at the University of Cape Town in the Nursing and Midwifery Division of the faculty of Health Sciences. Applications are invited from eligible South African citizens who will register at the University of Cape Town, for fulltime study towards the Postgraduate Diploma and the Master’s degree in Nursing and Midwifery.

International Scholarships Description: The Makerere University Female Scholarship Foundation (FSF) was launched in 2010 as a continuation of the Makerere University Female Scholarship Initiative (FSI). With $ 4m support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, FSI supported 691 girls from disadvantaged background to access higher education. In November 2010, Makerere University made an appeal to the Government of Uganda to avail Shs 1.5 billion from the Peace, Recovery and Development Plan (PRDP) for 150 scholarships for girls from Greater Northern Uganda to access higher education at the University. Letters were written to 38 districts requesting them to make contributions to FSF. In response to this appeal, the districts of Maracha, Nebbi, Nakapiripirit, Zombo and Napak offered scholarships as stated in the table below.
