Monetary International Scholarships Fellowship awards for the artists residing in Florida by the Division of Cultural Affairs, USA
The Individual Artist Fellowship Program is designed to recognize practicing, professional, and creative artists residing in Florida through monetary fellowship awards. The program provides support for artists of exceptional talent and demonstrated ability to improve their artistic skills and enhance their careers.
For purposes of eligibility to apply to the program, a “professional creative artist” is defined as a person who creates, on an ongoing basis, original works of art within an artistic discipline, and is pursuing it as a means of livelihood or for the highest level of professional recognition.
Fellowship awards of $5,000 or $2,500 will be made to artists who have achieved a high level of professional recognition in their art form (media arts, visual arts, dance, folk arts, literature, music composition, theatre, or interdisciplinary), based on panel recommendations. The Division will also attempt to provide extra performance, exhibition, or publication opportunities for all fellowship recipients. The fellowship program has been awarding Florida artists monetary fellowships in recognition of their outstanding work and superb talent since 1976.
To be eligible for a fellowship the applicant must:
* Be a legal resident of Florida, as defined by section 196.015, Florida Statutes or section 222.17*, Florida Statutes and agree to maintain Florida residency for the duration of the fellowship period.
